Are Vision Boards Woo Woo?

Blue sparkly vision board with the word community
Are vision boards woo woo? Or is it just a creative way to do your life plan? I’ll let you decide! In the meantime, here are some of my thoughts on why I create a Vision Board every year:

Vision Board: This can be done online, as pictures, as words, as a bucket list. Basically, it is a powerful tool that combines images, words, and symbols to represent the goals and dreams you aspire to achieve in your life. For me, I focus on six areas of life that matter most to me and create my vision board to manifest those specific goals. I use a canvas filled with glow in the dark glitter, stickers, magazines, printouts, and pictures for my vision board.

Manifesting Goals: To manifest my dream life, I start by visualizing what my ideal life would look like. This involves me imagining what I want and also how I will feel when I achieve it. These dreams include:
1. my health
2. my home
3. my work/business
4. my relationships with my family, friends, community
5. what adventures I would like to go on
6. my financial foundation

By visualizing these six things, I align my subconscious mind with my conscious desires, creating the way for opportunities and actions to lead me toward my goals. It sounds so woo-woo but what you are actually doing is taking things out of your brain, putting them into writing, and helping your brain focus on what is important to you.

Choosing A Word: Selecting a word for the year serves as a guiding principle, a reminder of your core focus. We are ever changing souls and each year we get the chance to level up who we want to be. By committing to a word, everything you do that year, you will do with intentionality. Where focus goes, intentionality follows. I just made that up. It fits for me though, lol. For example, I chose "Community," as my word this year. It signifies that I am done hiding behind my auditory processing disorder and being an introvert. I will say yes to invites that will help me become a better friend and colleague. This word becomes a touchstone, helping me stay aligned with my intentions as the year unfolds.

I am a something shiny human - I am so curious about the world that I often want to learn all the things when they become known to me. Having a vision board keeps me focused on what truly matters to me and why it matters. As you can see, my vision board is still missing my house projects. They will be added soon. Like anything else I do, I do it to the best of my ability and then follow up with the rest!

Lub you,
Crystal
